Google’s doodle for Newton’s birthday

Google being the most preferred search engine comes up with a unique piece of creative art called Doodle which is usually displayed on its site to celebrate an occasion. This time it amazed its visitors by displaying a falling apple as a part of its doodle initiative. Initially, it left many thinking whether the celebrations were for Google’s  chrome browser passing  Apple’s Safari browser or maybe a new breakthrough from something from their labs towards Apple Ipod. But unexpectedly, the celebration was as a part of Google’s remembrance and honour towards the birthday of Sir Isaac Newton where Apple symbolised the invention of gravity. It supposedly fell on the legendary scientist’s head as result he devised the theory of gravity on earth.
Sir Isaac Newton was born on January 4th,1643 , and he died at an old age due to natural illness. Today, when you click on the doodle graphics it will lead you towards Sir Isaac Newton’s search page where more information about him can be obtained.
It supposedly seems, Apple got inspired by him and they had strategic plans to name their previous tablet as the Newton, but seems they have abandoned the idea as there seems very less hope for their future launches to be named as the Newton.
Google likes to keep their logo simple and sleek. The Doodle has been displayed in a clear, uncluttered manner. The falling apple intention has been clearly met with a quick loading site and as a result a users browsing experience is not compromised.
For now, Google is all set towards their launch of Nexus One in a special organised event. Lots of speculations about this launch is already on, we just need to wait and see how it goes.

Can YouTube advance with social games?

Popular social networking sites like Facebook, orkut etc. have already found success in providing social gaming platform to its visitors. Games like Farmville, Mafiawars, Yoville, Poker etc. has already created a stir and has adapted well in the visitors mind. Its addicting which is what makes the visitors keep coming back for more. But can Google have social games on its video based site YouTube? Will it give this site an edge over others towards its advancement?  This is a question revolving around the internet after Google filed a patent application earlier this year and published this month, which focuses on its videos being more geared towards gaming , as in the videos are known to be more interactive which would be based on games.
According to Bnet, the text which displays at certain locations at  certain time will be displaying something like a graphical text box annotations which simple means it would be interactive. Till date, YouTube spotted annotations that were static with ordinary text box and there was nothing fascinating about it. To change this they might include invisible annotations which would make it feature rich enabling it to control playback, pause and also linking to specific portions of videos totally based on the visitors action.
YouTube has plans for adding social gaming to its site or they would not have filed for the application in February,2009. This being said, since the games would be videos based, you may not want to expect games like Farmville or Poker but interactive games based on testing users skills in the form of videos, like a quiz games which will allow a visitor to proceed if the answer was correct. This was just an example, as I sure believe they have dramatic and constructive plans for adding these games in the future which would enhance the user experience.
