Websites & SEO for trades whose next job starts with “near me” on a phone.
Web design and local SEO for electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, builders, roofers, kitchen and bathroom fitters, landscapers and every trade in between. Your customers search on a phone, ring the first business that looks trustworthy, and never scroll to page two. We make sure that business is you.

Why good tradespeople lose jobs to average ones
Word of mouth is drying up
The referrals still come, but the homeowner checking you out finds a Facebook page from 2019 and rings someone else.
The site was built by a mate
It is slow, not built for phones, and says “we cover all areas” instead of naming the towns Google actually ranks by.
Directories take the lead and the margin
Checkatrade, Bark and Rated People sell the same enquiry to five firms. Your own site should be bringing the work in for free.
How we get trades to the top of the map pack
Google Business Profile done properly — categories, services, real photos, posts and a steady review flow: the profile is your shop window and most trades leave it half-empty.
A page for every service and every town — “boiler repair Dereham” is a different search from “bathroom fitter Swaffham”. Each one gets a page that answers it, so the site ranks across your whole patch.
Reviews on autopilot — a simple text or email after each job that lands the review on Google. Volume and recency move the map pack more than anything else.
Photos of real work — before-and-after galleries and job photos with locations. Homeowners trust what they can see; Google rewards the freshness.
Trust signals up front — Gas Safe, NICEIC, TrustMark, insurance, guarantees and years trading, placed where a nervous homeowner looks before ringing.
Speed to phone — click-to-call, WhatsApp and a short quote form that works with one thumb. The site’s job is to get the phone ringing, not to look clever.
Ranking where the jobs are, not where the vanity is
Most trades do not need national rankings; they need to be the obvious choice in the fifteen towns they actually drive to. That is a smaller, winnable market, and it is where our local SEO work has always lived.
We start with your real patch and your most profitable jobs. Then we build the profile, the town pages, the reviews and the content that put you in the map pack for those searches, and we track calls and form enquiries so you can see which towns and services the work is coming from. It is steady, measurable work and it compounds: a profile with three hundred reviews and a site with forty ranking pages is very hard for a competitor to dislodge.
Emergency and planned work handled differently. “No hot water” searches need speed and phone numbers; “new kitchen” searches need galleries and reassurance. The pages match the intent.
Patch-based, not postcode-stuffed. Real pages for real towns, with local detail, not one page with fifty place names bolted to the bottom.
Calls tracked, not just clicks. Call tracking and form tagging show you the enquiries, so the monthly report talks about jobs.
Runs alongside the directories. Keep Checkatrade if it pays; the aim is that your own site becomes the cheaper, better source over time.
Everything a trade business needs online, under one roof
Pick what you need. Most start with the profile and the site, add local SEO once the phone is ringing from the map pack, and never need anything more complicated.
Google Business Profile
Set up, verified, categorised and optimised, with a review process that keeps it growing.
Local SEO
Town and service pages, citations, content and reviews for the patch you actually cover. See local SEO.
Trade websites
Fast, mobile-first sites with galleries, accreditations and click-to-call built in.
Pay-monthly option
A standard site with hosting, care and edits for one monthly figure, so cash flow is not the barrier. See pay-monthly websites.
Google Ads for urgent work
Emergency and seasonal campaigns that switch on when you have capacity. See PPC management.
Reputation and reviews
Review generation, responses and monitoring across Google, Facebook and the trade directories.
Websites that make a homeowner comfortable enough to call
A trade website has one job: convince someone who has never met you that you will turn up, do good work and not rip them off. Everything on the page should serve that.
Built for the phone first
Most of your visitors are on a mobile, often outside, often stressed. Big buttons, fast loading, phone number always in reach.
Real photos, real people
Your van, your team, your finished jobs. Stock photos of models in hard hats lose trust in a second.
Accreditations where they count
Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT, FENSA, TrustMark and insurance shown near the call to action, with the numbers so they can be checked.
Service pages that answer the question
What you do, how it works, roughly what it costs, how quickly you can come. The questions customers ask on the phone, answered before they ring.
Reviews pulled in live
Google reviews on the site, updated automatically, so the proof is always current.
Quote requests that work
Short forms with photo upload so customers can show you the problem, routed to your phone as a text.
From a site that sits there to a system that brings in work
Once the basics are right, the same site can take bookings, chase reviews and feed your job management software, so admin stops eating your evenings.
Trade websites that convert
Mobile-first, fast, honest sites with the trust signals homeowners look for. See web design.
Online booking and photo quotes
Let customers book a survey or send photos of the job at 10pm, when they are actually thinking about it. See booking websites.
Connected to the tools you use
Tradify, ServiceM8, Xero, QuickBooks and calendar sync, so an enquiry becomes a job without retyping.
Quoted to your patch and your trade
A sole trader covering one town and a firm with six vans across three counties need different things. We look at your patch, your competition and where the profitable work is, and quote a fixed figure in writing. Pay-monthly sites are available where cash flow matters more than ownership up front.
Fixed, in writing
A short call or our project brief, then a written quote with exactly what is included. The figure does not move unless you ask for more.

Trades web design and SEO questions
I get all my work from word of mouth. Why do I need this?
Because the referral now checks you out online before ringing. A weak website or an empty Google profile costs you the jobs you were recommended for, and word of mouth alone rarely fills the diary in a quiet January.
Should I just use Checkatrade or MyBuilder?
They can work as one source of leads, but they sell the same enquiry to several firms and take a fee from every job. Your own profile and site bring in work you do not pay commission on, and the reviews you earn stay yours.
How long before I show up in the map pack?
For a business with a real address in the town and a decent review flow, a few weeks to a few months for the main terms. Towns you drive to but are not based in take longer and rely on service pages, reviews that mention the town, and consistent work.
Can you help me get more Google reviews?
Yes. We set up a simple process, usually a text with a direct review link sent after each job, and templates for responding. Volume and recency of reviews are the biggest single factor in the map pack.
Do I need a page for every town?
For the towns that matter, yes: a genuine page with local detail, not a copy-and-paste with the town name swapped. Google can tell the difference and so can customers. We help you decide which towns are worth it.
I am a sole trader. Is this affordable?
Yes. A pay-monthly site with hosting and care included, plus a properly set up Google profile, is within reach of a one-person business, and the first extra job usually covers it. We will tell you if we think you do not need more than that.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. Adding job photos and reviews is a two-minute task on your phone, and we show you how. Anything bigger, send it to us and it is done as part of your plan.
What about emergency work at night and weekends?
Emergency searches are high intent and time-critical. We build pages and, where wanted, ads that show your out-of-hours availability clearly, with the number one tap away. If you do not want night work, we make that clear too.
Will you write the content? I hate writing.
We write it from a conversation with you and your photos. You check it reads like you, and it goes live. Nothing publishes without your say.
How much does a trade website cost?
It depends on how many services and towns need their own pages and whether you want booking or integrations. Simple sites are modest and can be paid monthly; bigger firms are quoted as a fixed build. Tell us about the business and we will give you a figure in writing.
Be the one they ring first.
Tell us your trade, your patch and how the work comes in now. We will show you where you appear on Google today, where you should, and what it would take to get there.
