See what Google sees. Then see what we’d fix first.
Built for local service businesses that live or die by the map results: trades, clinics, salons, garages, agents and the like. Enter your website, your town and the service you most want to be found for, and we check the site from outside, compare your Google Business Profile with the businesses that currently rank, and show you the three things we would do first. Shops, national firms and charities can run it too; the local parts switch off and the content, speed and trust checks still apply. No score out of a hundred, no forty-page PDF.

Things the average free audit doesn’t check
Most scanners count H1 tags and read a lab speed test. These are the checks that actually predict whether a local business gets found and gets the call.
Real visitors, not a lab test
Core Web Vitals from Google’s own field data: how fast the site was for real people on real phones over the last 28 days. That is what feeds rankings.
A page for what you sell, where you sell it
Whether the service you named and the town you work in have pages of their own. Google ranks pages, not businesses.
Your Google Business Profile against the map pack
Reviews, rating, photos and hours compared with the three businesses currently shown for your service in your town.
How the site is run
Plugin load, exposed versions, cache headers, render-blocking files, XML-RPC and username leaks: the things that make a WordPress site slow or a target.
Redirects, robots and sitemaps
Whether www and non-www agree, whether robots.txt is blocking anything it should not, whether Google has a map of the site at all.
The basics done properly
Title, description, schema, mobile viewport, tap-to-call and Open Graph on the homepage, plus duplicate titles across a sample of pages.
Content that could be anyone’s
Thin pages, town pages made by swapping a name in a template, copy with no prices, numbers or names, and whether the site says who you are, where you are and how to reach you.
A snapshot from outside, not an audit
We do not sell audits. In our experience a paid report handed over as a PDF rarely gets acted on, and a free one is usually a sales script with a traffic-light colour scheme.
This tool is a triage. It looks at what anyone can see from outside your site and your Google profile, ranks what it finds by likely impact, and tells you plainly what we would do about each. The proper diagnosis, the part that needs access to analytics, Search Console and the site itself, happens when we work on the site together, and the value is in the fixing.
Instant and automatic. Results on screen in about a minute. Nothing is installed on your site and no one has to interpret a report.
Ranked, not scored. Three findings ordered by impact, each with what we would do first. No number to compare with a cheaper quote.
Honest about limits. If the basics are fine, it says so. If your site has too little traffic for Google to publish speed data, it says that too.
Private. Your report has its own link, is hidden from search engines, and is deleted after ninety days. We keep your details to follow up, and nothing else.

- Three things, ranked
- Then a conversation, if you want one
What usually happens next
Nothing urgent
The basics are in place. We will say so, and the conversation, if you want one, is about growth: content, conversion and what competitors are doing.
A few quick fixes
Cache headers, a missing profile field, a redirect chain. Often an hour or two of work that we fold into a care plan or do as a one-off.
Visibility check questions
Is it really free?
Yes. It costs us a few pence in API calls per check and nothing else, because no one has to sit and interpret it. We ask for a business email and phone number because the point is to have a conversation if the results warrant one.
Will you install anything or need a login?
No. Everything is read from outside: your public pages, your sitemap, Google’s public speed data and your public Business Profile. Access only comes into it if we go on to work together.
Why do you ask for my town and main service?
Because local visibility is service plus place. We use them to check whether you have a page for that service, whether the town appears on the site, and how your Google profile compares with the businesses currently shown for that search.
Why not a score out of 100?
A score flattens twenty different things into one number that people then shop around with. Three ranked findings with a next step each is more use to you and more honest about what matters.
My site is not WordPress. Does it still work?
Yes. The WordPress-specific checks are skipped and the rest run as normal. If the site is on a closed builder, the report will say what that limits.
I am not a local business. Is it still useful?
Yes, with a caveat. Choose shop, national or charity on the form and the town-led checks switch off; you still get real-user speed, content quality, trust signals, page coverage and, for shops, product page and policy checks. The Google profile comparison is the part that only makes sense locally.
How is the Google Business Profile check done?
Through Google’s Places API, which returns the public information anyone can see on a profile. We compare your reviews, rating, photos and hours with the top results for your service in your town. We never store Google’s data, only the comparison.
What if it finds nothing wrong?
Then it says so. Plenty of sites have the basics right and are held back by content or competition instead; that is a different conversation and we are happy to have it, or not.
What do you do with my details?
We use them to send you the report and to follow up once. They are not added to a mailing list or shared. The report itself is deleted after ninety days.
Can I run it for a competitor?
You can run it for any site you own or are responsible for. We block our own domains and rate-limit heavily, and the results are sent to the email you give, so it is not much use as a spying tool.
Is this the audit you use with clients?
No. Client work starts with a proper diagnosis using analytics, Search Console, the site itself and our own tooling, and the findings are fixed rather than written up. This is the outside-in version, built to tell you whether that conversation is worth having.
Find out in a minute. Decide in your own time.
Run the check above, or if you would rather just talk, we will look at the site by hand and call you back.
